Venus will meet Jupiter after sunset on Friday, March 16, 2012. India and her skies will be a window to the solar system as the planets show their meeting. Venus and Jupiter will be aligned in the sky westwards.
Venus seldom meets up with Jupiter. The planet Venus will shine brightly for its date with its less sparkling fellow planet. After they have their tete a tete, the planets will fly away. The planets will move farther apart in opposite directions. Venus will travel on its path in a projectory manner upwards. Jupiter moves away downwards. Venus and the moon often meet. So does Jupiter. The moon and Jupiter have regular dates in the night sky. However, Venus and Jupiter seldom share a common rendevous. This night will be a special one.
If you have a pair of good binoculars, you’ll be able to see Venus, Jupiter and the moon clearly. The moon’s surface is pitted with craters. The binoculars proves that the pictures of the moon are true. From earth, the moon’s face appears yellow, having sunlight thrown on its surface. The craters appear black and grey.
